Welcoming The Holy Spirit

SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Read Exodus 31:12-18. God is devoted to us even when we are not devoted to Him. He gave His Word to us as a covenant and as law. There are consequences when we break that law and covenant even now. Discuss some of the consequences and why you think God laid out law for us.

2. Read John 14:16-27 & Joel 2:28-29. The Holy Spirit was given to us to help us. How does He help us? Discuss the ways that the Holy Spirit has helped you in your life and times when He reminded you of something important.

3. Read Ephesians 1:13-14 & 2 Corinthians 1:21-22. The Holy Spirit came to seal all of the promises given to us by the Father. What are some of the promises that you have received personally from the Father? Discuss how the Holy Spirit has helped fulfill some of them in the past and how you believe He will help fulfill those in the future with the group.

4. Read 2 Corinthians 3:2-18. Our confidence for all of our situations should be in Christ and through His Word. From this passage, discuss how this particular letter should encourage us as Christians and give us direction. What was the purpose of this particular writing? How does it personally give you direction? Discuss as a group.
