A Time To Return

SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1.Read Nehemiah 1:1-11. Are there people within your sphere of influence that God has laid on your heart and it has caused you to cry out to God the way Nehemiah has? Have you asked God to help them return to Him? Are there areas within your heart that need to return to the Lord? Discuss.

2.Read Nehemiah 2:1-6. Nehemiah is crying out for people to return to God in this passage. What does that mean exactly? Talk about how this is parallel to what is happening in our culture today. What are the similarities and differences?

3.Read Nehemiah 1:4-7. Discuss how some of our beliefs and ideologies have strayed from the Bible. Why do we buy the lies that we are doing ok? What will it take for us to be broken before God? Make this personal. How can you become broken before God like Nehemiah?

4.Read Nehemiah 1:8-11. After reading this passage, pray as a group to assess the health of your life, your marriage, your family…. And especially your Spiritual Health. Meditate on that for a few minutes and discuss the areas that God would have you surrender to Him.

5.Read Nehemiah 2:1-6. God is calling us to return to Him first before we cry out for others to do so. Discuss what needs to happen personally for that to happen.
