Life or Death

SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Read Genesis 1:26b, Genesis 2:16-17, & James 1:15. We choose between life and death. When we choose death we experience a separation from God. After reading this passages, discuss what exactly this means with the group.

2. Read Genesis 3:1-8. What are some things in your life that have caused you to be separated from God? Do you struggle with fear, hiding, shame, rejection, blame, or abandonment? How can you take authority over those things and choose life instead?

3. Read Ephesians 2:1-5 & Genesis 2:9-13. Ask yourself these questions as God asked Adam...1) Where are you?, 2) Who told you?, and 3) What have you done? Ponder on the answers to these questions for a moment. Once you have meditated on that, confess the answers to one another. Take a minute to pray as a group over them and ask God to help you come into alignment with His truth.

4. Read Genesis 3:19, John 3:16, Romans 5:17, & John 10:10. God always has an alternate way that leads to life instead of death. Talk about a time when the Lord helped you out of a "death" type of situation. What was His alternate route for your life? How did He bring you from death to life? Discuss.
