Pray First And Pray Always
SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. Read Matthew 11:12. There is a war going on in the heavenly realm and it is against us and all of Heaven. How do we “take it by force” – all that is coming against us? What can we do? How can we pray? Discuss.
2. Read Luke 5:15-16 & Mark 11:15-18. Sometimes we need to get alone to really get into the presence of God, especially when dealing with very difficult circumstances. What are some times that you have been through things where you needed to pull away in order to seek God face. Describe how God came through?
3. Read Matthew 21:12-22. A building is not the house of prayer, we are the house of prayer. How can we exemplify this in our daily lives? How can we become a place for people to come for safety and for His presence? Discuss as a group.
4. Read Acts 4:23, 31; 1 Timothy 2:1-4, and Psalm 56:8. Our first response to every single situation, especially difficult ones, should be prayer first! What we are going through matters very much to the Father. Discuss some steps to make prayer a pattern in your life and in your family that you go to FIRST.
5. Read Acts 2:41-42, Jeremiah 33:3, & Hebrews 4:16. We can’t expect anyone else to get us through. We need the Father to help us. We need to draw closer to Him. How does God’s presence and when we draw near to Him change everything in our life? Discuss a time where God’s presence changed an entire situation.
