SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1.Read Luke 3:21-22 & Matthew 6:7-13. Jesus prayed for the things that we all need: Acceptance, Security, Identity, & Purpose. This passage is an outline in how we can pray in order to receive all of these things and more. How can this outline help you in your daily prayer routine?

2.Read John 17:1-10, 11-12. We need to know who we are in Christ and how we relate to Him. We can know this through our prayer life by declaring Biblical truths over ourselves as we have fellowship with Him. Why is this important? How can this help us in our walk with Christ and our daily life? Discuss as a group.

3.Read John 17:13-19. When we pray, we need to pray for God’s will and His purpose. It’s easy to get caught into praying for what we want as opposed to that. Discuss some practical ways you can pray God’s will in your life and the lives of those that you are praying for.

4.Read John 17:20-21. God’s heart is always for us to be unified. Why is this an important prayer? What happens when we don’t pray it?

5.Read John 17:22-26. We need to pray that God’s love is revealed to the world. Why do we need to pray this? Does God really NEED for us to pray this way? God wants us divinely connected to His heart. How does this help us connect with Him?
