SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. Read John 16:33. Sometimes we think that because we are believers we won’t encounter hard things, however, this scripture promises that we will go through hard things. We know that God has overcome everything for us through His son. What kind of things have you encountered that were difficult that you felt Him help you overcome? Discuss with the group.
2. Read Isaiah 55:8-9. God does things and thinks of things differently than we do. Ponder a difficult time in your life that had a different outcome than you expected. What was God saying over that situation and over you at the time that was different than the way that you thought of it? Discuss.
3. Read Romans 8:28. Even hard things bring good results. Talk about a time when something difficult in your life brought about a personal change in your life that was positive.
4. Read 1 John 49:11. The Father’s love for us is so much greater than we will ever comprehend on this earth. Take a moment to consider how great His love is for you personally. Meditate on a time where you felt so unlovable. Listen to the Father during this time and write down what you hear Him say over you. If you feel comfortable, share with the group what He shared with you.
5. Read Matthew 11:28-30. The hardest thing for us to do is to let go of control of our situations, but this scripture tells us to rest in Him. How can we do that in a practical, daily way? Discuss.
